Who We Are
Australian Ground Sciences is a senior-led geotechnical and environmental consultancy providing engineering advice across New South Wales.
We specialise in site classifications and geotechnical investigations for residential and commercial developments. Our work is grounded in engineering judgment, not templates. Every project is reviewed by experienced engineers who understand construction realities, local ground conditions, and approval pathways such as CDC and DA processes. We are known for fast turnaround times, clear communication, and reports that are practical, compliant, and trusted by certifiers, councils, and builders.

Site Classification
A site classification is our most basic offering. Our site classifications are prepared in accordance with AS2870 include drilling boreholes, lab testing and preparation of a report. Also includes an assessment of bearing pressures for foundation design.
Geotechnical Report
A geotechnical investigation report provides a detailed assessment of subsurface conditions to support engineering design. The investigation is carried out in accordance with AS 1726 and includes borehole drilling, field testing, laboratory testing, and preparation of a comprehensive report. The assessment addresses soil and rock conditions, groundwater, and provides geotechnical parameters and design recommendations relevant to the proposed development.
Contamination Assessment
Identify and evaluate potential soil contamination to ensure environmental compliance and mitigate risks. We perform thorough site testing and analysis to ascertain the nature and extent of pollution.
Foundation and Shoring Design
Develop robust and cost-effective foundation and shoring solutions tailored to your specific project requirements and ground conditions. Our expert analysis ensures structural stability and long-term performance.
Acid Sulphate Soils
An acid sulfate soils assessment evaluates the presence and potential impacts of acid sulfate soils associated with disturbance of natural ground. The assessment is undertaken in accordance with the NSW Acid Sulfate Soils Manual and includes soil sampling, laboratory testing, and preparation of a report. The report identifies acid sulfate soil risk, disturbance thresholds, and management requirements relevant to the proposed works.
Groundwater Assessment
A groundwater assessment provides an evaluation of groundwater conditions and potential impacts associated with the proposed development. The assessment may include borehole drilling, groundwater monitoring, field and laboratory testing, and reporting. Where required, assessments are prepared to meet WaterNSW requirements and address groundwater level, quality, yield, and potential impacts on surrounding users and water resources.
